Welcome Letter

Dear Parents,

Thank you for entrusting your child’s high school education to us.

Raising a teenager is not easy, and there are times when the stresses and challenges of growing up seem to overshadow the importance of doing well in school. When students enter high school in ninth grade, most are still comfortable with the label of “boys and girls.” When they leave high school, they need to be “men and women,” and ready to enter the adult world. This readiness can only be accomplished if there is a true partnership between parents and school personnel.

When you decided to register your son or daughter at CREATE, you demonstrated that you value education and want your child to be successful. You have become actively involved in the education process by making a choice. We encourage you to continue to be actively involved with your child’s education. Even though your children are in high school and seem almost grown, they still need your support.

You can assist with the following:

  • All students must have notebooks for each course, pens and pencils to write with, completed homework, and books.
  • Students need to have a clean uniform each day, and navy blue sweaters on cool days. Only white tee-shirts may be worn under the uniform shirts, and they cannot be overly long. Absolutely no hooded sweatshirts or other sweaters may be worn to class.
  • Students need to arrive to school on time (arrival time is 8:10, and they are considered late after 8:15).Remember, 3 lates=1 absence, and excessive absences will result in no credit given for the courses. Provide medical notes or court notices to support an excused absence.
  • Remind students to follow the school’s code of conduct. Cursing, disrespect, and disruptive or violent behavior are unacceptable, and will not be tolerated.
  • Speak to teachers whenever you have a question about progress or procedures. Call the school and leave a message. The teacher will call you back.
  • Join the Parent Teacher Organization, volunteer, and visit the school. Attend meetings and conferences as scheduled.
  • Please volunteer to help us out.
  • Read notices that come home and be aware of the school’s calendar of events.
  • Do not hesitate to contact an administrator if you have further questions.

Welcome to the CREATE Charter High School Family!
