Course Selection
Students are enrolled in classes based on two factors: academic need and interest. Some courses are required of all students, while others can be selected. There is a wide range of course offerings in each content area, with honors classes and foundation courses available. Some courses have prerequisites that must be passed before moving on to a more advanced level. Not all courses are available each marking period. Course selections are determined in consultation with guidance staff, parents, and students.
Grading System
Students receive a number grade on their report card, which is also recorded as a letter grade for their transcripts, and is based on a 4.0 scale. The student GPA is reported on the 4.0 scale. The number grades reflect test/completed work assessed. Any grade below a 70/C- is considered failing. Report cards are distributed quarterly, at parent conferences.
